I took a little more time off around Thanksgiving than I thought I would! But I had a good reason! My significant other, Brandon, proposed a couple days before we left to go back to Scottsdale, Arizona for the holiday! Even though Brandon had to return to Missouri after two days, I extended my trip to start planning our wedding! We are getting married in Scottsdale in April of 2023. I was able to nail down a few details with my mom during my time at home allowing me to come back to Missouri ready to focus on my social media management business again!

Once I landed in Missouri, I hit the ground running! I met with my clients, batch created content for them & myself, and continued planning our wedding from 1400 miles away! It’s been an insane couple of weeks, but I’m excited to close out Q4 with a bang!

Just START!

It’s funny how many people in this world want to keep you at their level. I wish I had a dime for every time someone told me that social media was impossible to make a full-time job. You can do anything you set your mind to!

The best advice I can give you is to start. Start messy, start slow, start small, just START! I’ve been working in social media management since I was 18. I spent all four years of my undergrad as an intern for a social media marketing company, NOVITAsocial where I learned everything I know now. Right after college I started working for Plexus Worldwide as their social media coordinator. It was only five months later that I turned in my resignation to move from Arizona to Missouri and was offered a freelance position with my same team at Plexus for another year.

I took this opportunity to keep growing. Even though I just recently registered my LLC in 2021, I have been growing my clientele since 2019. Due to COVID-19 I lost a couple of my clients, but I decided to turn that negative into a positive! I used my newly found free time to rebrand and rebuild my business.

Taking this time to focus on myself and what I want my business to look like gave me more confidence in this field. I can’t express how important it is to LOVE what you do and how you do it!

Like the home page of my website says, “We don’t have a choice on whether we DO social media, the question is how well we DO it.” – Erik Qualman. I can’t wait to see what’s to come! Let the adventure begin.. again. LOL!
